Start of Summer, Start of Something New

Welcome to the Inaugural Newsletter for Sapphy Lore. [June 2025]

Hello everyone!

Thank you all for being the first subscribers to my newsletter. It’s an honor to have anyone come in and want to be updated on what I’m up to these days.

My plan is to send one of these about once a month with an overall update on my book publications, tabletop roleplaying game projects, current reading/video game playing list, and more. In addition, I will have one-off emails for deals on my published works, ARC sign-ups, and other exciting announcements. Looking forward to sharing all of these things with you in the future.

Now, let’s get this newsletter rolling!

Written Works

Mother Revolution

You may have heard that in January, I released my debut novel, Mother Revolution:

On the run from a planet of oligarchs, Virginia takes a side job from a bounty hunter. The terms? Her freedom in exchange for her help. She thought she was diagnosing a program virus. Instead, she uncovers a group of people enslaved in plain sight, their rights stripped with ease by their creators. Virginia knows the cost of doing the right thing.

You can find it on your favorite e-pub store by clicking here, OR you can buy paperback copies through Bookshop.org and other online booksellers. Please let me know if you write a review—I may share it in a future newsletter!

“Project Wholecloth”

Especially if you’ve followed me on Threads, you probably heard that I’m in the finishing stages of publishing the first book of an Epic Romantic Fantasy trilogy that I gave the codename “Project Wholecloth”. I’ve started using the tagline They’re fixing what destiny couldn’t.

The first book of “Project Wholecloth” will follow the adventures of the King’s Dagger, four people loyal to the Kingdom and chosen to deliver a “precise cut” where needed. Our two perspective characters are foreigners to the Kingdom, each with intriguing ties to its fate. They include our tall and strong warrior who’s niece to the King, and our reserved and proper Fire Mage who’s been exiled from his homeland. The first book promises fast-paced stakes while slowly building up the reader’s understanding of the true nature of what the King’s Dagger will face in the series.

I have some final edits to do before I get it to a proofreader, and I have some book cover design to finalize (it’s so pretty!). The official title of the series and the first book will be out this July, along with ebook preorders. Keep an eye on these emails to be the first to know the truth on “Project Wholecloth”.

WHO WE WERE: @ GenCon 2025

You don't remember all the details of your life, and you especially don't remember being put in stasis. Now you're tasked to save a colony where everyone will return at some vague timeline given by a hologram of an old woman who you know is keeping secrets. The land needs help if you're to make it livable, and you have to do it soon. Will you do everything you need to help the colony come back to full strength? Should you?

Who We Were will be run at GenCon this year on Thursday, July 31st and Friday, August 1st. You can see if spots are still available by clicking this link. Hope to see you there!

Podcast Update

Lore Together covers Dave the Diver.

Lore Together, the podcast I’ve done with my husband Mystic since January of 2020, just released it’s latest episode exploring the story of Dave the Diver. This one had so many elements that when Mystic was explaining all the different mini-game pieces that you’re introduce to early on, my head was spinning. It was insane to keep up with! I’m going to try to do the next episode, which will hopefully tie in with the June Boss Rush Book Club. Hopefully I can get the time to get it done.

You can find out more about Lore Together by visiting our website, or listening to us wherever fine podcasts are heard.

Sapphy Shares—What I’m digging right now

Last month, I finished Afterglow: Rising from the Ashes by Stacey LP. Stacey is one of my first “thriends” and I was eager to try out her book, despite not usually reading 1) dystopian fiction and 2) love triangle plots. Honestly? Loved it! I usually don’t like a slow pace but have realistic and mature characters navigating a ravaged planet with leftover hellbeasts was immediately compelling and kept me reading. Two first-person perspectives from introspective and level-headed characters, yet there’s still a lot of tension from the setting and group dynamics. It’s the beginning of a trilogy, which means you will want to throw the book at the wall at the end of it. 🤣 But honestly, that means Stacey did her job. As some may have seen on my insta, I can confirm that Afterglow is Sapphy Approved.

You can find Afterglow: Rising from the Ashes on Kindle Unlimited as well as most large ebook retailers. Click here to buy it from Bookshop.org.

If you want to keep up with what I’m reading, you can find me on The Storygraph or Fable as Sapphy Lore. I’ll keep you all updated in this newsletter as well.

THANK YOU!

Look out in another month for more updates and ramblings written by… me. 💜
