For the Love of the Word [February 2026]
Love takes work, and I plan to put the work in.
It’s not easy, but it’s worth it.
Work has been particularly hard. I was on a project where I thought the person leading it had given all the information necessary. Turns out they hadn’t and now it’s going to be five months of crunch. Hoping that I can get home and recover enough to work on these stories.
The Injured Tapestry trilogy still needs work, and now that it’s started I must finish it. I also have all these large goals I set for myself. On top of that, I still plan to prioritize my family. But I didn’t forget the goals I sent you all last month, so I will keep working toward them. I’ll update you through the year, and looking forward to making space my stories in spite of the world fighting it.
Written Works
Bookshop.org—now selling digital copies!
Excited to say that you can buy digital copies of Mother Revolution and Hidden Root from Bookshop.org! Click this link to find my books on their site!
What’s exciting about Bookshop.org? It’s a website that will send the profits from your purchase total to your local bookstore, supporting indie bookstores across the U.S. It’s a great way to now get digital and physical copies of indie books while supporting your community!
What are you waiting for? Buy a book and support your community now!
The Injured Tapestry
My beta readers are in Book Two of The Injured Tapestry. A couple have finished but a few need more time. The developmental edits for this book will be a little more involved, but it’s not as bad as I thought it could be. March and April will decide how soon I can put out the second book.
But who’s here for draft updates when there is character art to share?

Character Art of Mage Peter Black Stone from Hidden Root

Character Art of Angela Woods from Hidden Root.
Sheyenne Cannon truly outdid herself this time! She brought The handsome healer and the mysterious archer to life. My endless gratitude for lending her talent to this. You can find her prints for sale by clicking this link or follow her Instagram @MossyPaintandPrint .
Book Reviews
I’m still in need of book reviews across all review platforms! If you have already read Mother Revolution or Hidden Root, please post your review on your preferred space. Any review can help bring more eyes to these stories and, in turn, give you a lot more people to talk to about them. ❤️
TTRPG Projects and News
Who We Were
I will be running Who We Were again at GenCon this year. The hope is I will have some things ready to share for when it’s published. Work’s ramp up means less time for TTRPG projects, but this will get published this year. It just may be after GenCon.
But that does mean you should put Who We Were on your wishlist for your GenCon events!
Either way looking forward to figure out who your character was together.

Podcast Update

The Lore Together logo for the EarthSiege Episode.
Our latest episode that just came out about EarthSiege is a wild ride! Had me thinking about how societal fears affects the stories we tell. EarthSiege is a product of the time it was written and the lessons that were taught to the writers, at least in my opinion. Before that we covered Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force. Do you want to hear my husband, Mystic, and I get ridiculously nerdy about Star Trek? Then it’s a perfect episode for you to listen to. You can find Lore Together wherever fine podcasts are heard.
Below is our remaining streaming schedule for the month of February.

Sapphy Shares—What I’m digging right now
Social media has been dragging my spirit down. It’s not just the news, but it’s also the bot riddled, advertising-geared feeds powered by algorithms crafted by greedy billionaires. It makes one cynical. So when @BibliOddities offered something different on Threads, I took a leap of faith.
They, along with other cool bookish people, are trying to make a space that’s a lot more human and supportive. It’s not free—they have to pay for the platform itself, but the lowest tier is only $1 per month. I’m planning to try out a space primarily focused on bookish conversations for writers, author, readers, and all combination of the three. There are posts and live chat rooms, where you’ll see us sharing rambles, pictures, and cute reading buddies (a.k.a. pets). The vibes are fun and supportive! If you wanted to take a leap of faith with me, I would say right now that the BibliOddites Story Guild on Mighty is Sapphy Approved.
If you want to look at the options and join, where you’ll find me and other fun people in chats and the “FYP That Doesn’t Suck” feed, click this link here to join! Hope to see you around the chat.
THANK YOU!
I’m grateful for your love of the word, and how it extends to my words on the page. Look out in another month for more updates and ramblings written by… me. 💜
